Yesterday (10/27/2014) I got a phone call from Hot Topic. They asked if I could come in for a interview at noon today. Gladly I accepted and was in high spirits of finally getting away from Autozone for good to go somewhere where almost no one has bad review of working there. I was scared though, what would happen if my manager found out? Would he fire me?? At that point I really didn't care yet I did, if Hot Topic didn't work out I would be fucked so I kept it secret. Sleeping was hard as I was so stoaked about it!
I woke up around 9am and decided to get myself ready, I brushed my hair, brushed the crap out of my teeth, used mouth wash and even flossed. My teeth now really hurt! Anyways, I then got on the computer and had time to think of what I would wear to show I could fit in with their crew. I chose my halloween pumpkin shirt, my nice jeans, and my I <3 Mustache bracelet with my normal work boots. With very high spirits yet a tinge of fear of screwing up I went over my answers for any questions she might ask. Fuck was I not prepared!
After walking the store for about 30 minutes ( I got there way early out of habit ) the store manager asked me over, she was nice looking, had gauges, nose peirced, tons of buttons on her lanyard, and was really just pretty chill. Me on the other hand had my heart racing all at once as she began asking me questions I had never been asked at any of the other 10+ interviews I've done!

- How would my manager discribe me? ( After JUST getting my yearly review I told her what my manager told me - refer to older blog for that info )
- How would me fellow/formal employees discribe me? Outgoing and easy to get along with.
- What is your fav. character they have in the store? Grell from Black Butler ( she didn't know who it was )
- Greeting, Cashier, or Stock? Order then from least to greating joy. I said, Cashier, Greeting, Stock, to me Cashier and Greeting is the same thing so I put them together in my head, but there I guess they're different.
- Who do I think is the best kept secret band? I said a person friend, DJ Shasta ( I don't consider him the BEST but it's all I knew )
- What is my fav. youtube video? I said I don't have one, my fav person though is PewDiePie! ( She didn't seem ammused )
- She pointed to the music artists wall and asked who could compare to Paramore . . . I DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! I told her I generally only listen to techno/remix's so I totally flunked that one.
- She walked us to the pants and asked me which ones might be the best sellers, I said the speckled acid wash blue jeans as I see a lot of people wearing them. She then asked me which pants would I suggest to her . . . she was wearing all black and had red hair. I guessed she liked darker shades of color, so I suggested a pair of faded black pants, a black acid wash pair of pants, and some grey / black splatted pants. She stated its cause of Halloween that she's wearing dark colors. For fucks sake how could I tell what you liked!?
- What was the last movie I watched? I guessed (lied) Nightmare Before Christmas.
- What genra/band of music did you last torrent/download/buy online? Dude it's been YEARS since I did any of that! I told her the last CD I bought was Effiel 65, she didn't know who they were. . .
Those are only SOME of the questions I was asked, and those responses are exactly what I said just without the thought parts. I understand Hot Topic is generally all about music, but I would be going from Automotive to that in just a day pretty much, I would be home listening to those bands in hopes of learning fast so I was better for work when I went back, its the same thing I did with cars. I learn as I go!
After ALL that, she stated that she only really needed people strong enough to do the Stock for them on Black Friday then after that we would see . . . fucking no. Just NO. Spencers did that SAME thing to me! Spencers only wanted to hire me for Christmas holiday then would have let me go. No. Fuck. All. THAT!
Autozone may be the shittiest company ever to work for, but I won't leave it JUST to work at my dream job for two weeks then be let go.
