After some much needed rest your alarm shoots through your ears telling you to wake up for your opening shift at work, it loves to interupt your wonderful one day off that you wished could last so much longer. The sun was high, the temperature outside was amazing, and your day seemed to be starting off very well, a false happiness was looming in the air though you would have to discover that a hour into your shift.
Opening the store was the easiest thing that morning~ Pulling overstock was a fast chore and front facing was easy to do as well since most the store was actually clean and tidey from the closing shift the night before. The customers were few and far between at first, the phones seemed to ring just enough to keep me busy. Then the shift came around to where Commercials driver and manager is supposed to come in. A few minutes past their due time? They're just running late I guess. Then when 30 minutes into their shifts no phone calls or texts I really wanted to find out where they are, asking my Store Manager where they were he THEN informed me they had both called in sick. One with some ovarian issues, the other had a type of flu. Now having both the Commercial people out for the whole day, running us all ragged with only 3 people to run the whole store can drive someone crazy. The whole day we met our DIY goal and almost got to our Commercial goal, just to say, we we're dead tired and rather upset.
That's just one of the times people have fucked us over!
Over the last few weeks our Commercial area has been rather slow at least a day or two a week, convienently then my Commercial Manager will state she is going home early since the day is so slow. When she states that she is going home it is usually on a day she isn't feeling good or she has earlier stated she doesn't wanna be at work. As if on gue on a day the Commercial Manager is off the phones in Commercial NEVER ring, we go from almost a $2,000 daily estimate to a scraping barrel $325 day. Convienent? I THINK NOT! Ever had that feeling that a Manager is wanting a company to think they absolutly NEED them so they kinda jinkx the playing field by texting all their customers and saying they're off, not to call us unless that person is there? I do. I am not the type of person who likes working with someone who is secretly hacking their own system to make themselves look better. The day you realize there's a rat in the system makes you think, who else is manipulating the system?
I may know my way around some of the rules, and I know how to keep an eye out for certain ques when at work that you pick up on after working somewhere for 8 months, but still. After having many issues with my managment and watching us go through 10 employees since I started in January I've learned what to do and what not to do. I do intend to keep my job until I am able to find another, hopefully at Hot Topic.
